If you’re a member of the media or the legislature in New Mexico and you are seeking accurate information about Christian Science, look no further. My office is here to respond to your interview requests and to answer any and all of your questions about Christian Science, The Church of Christ, Scientist or its Founder, Mary Baker Eddy.

My role as the “Committee on Publication” for New Mexico is to educate the media, legislators and others about Christian Science. I also work with legislators to find ways to accommodate spiritual healing within the law and to provide accurate information to our  congregations so that they can make wise decisions  on how to practice Christian Science within the laws of the State of NM . About L. Kelly White

L. Kelly White was appointed Christian Science Committee on Publication for New Mexico in May 2012. In this capacity, she oversees all media and legislative relations in New Mexico on behalf of the Christian Science churches in NM and the church’s headquarters in Boston , MA . Kelly was raised in Christian Science (the fourth generation) and made a life-long commitment to its practice early on in her teens.

Kelly has served the cause of Christian Science in many capacities as a long time member of the branch church in Albuquerque .  She has had many personal healings and witnessed the healings of others through the study and practice of Christian Science including, a broken ear drum, kidney stones, broken bones, difficult child birth, asthma, MS, and more.

Kelly’s professional work began in the 1980′s where she taught English, History, Economics and the Social Sciences for Albuquerque Public Schools.  Later after completing her masters and working on her doctorate in Education at the University of New Mexico, she served as the Director of Education for an international not-for-profit focused on resource management.  She designed and implemented training programs for teachers training teachers throughout Africa, Mexico and the USA.  Kelly helped to establish and served for many years on the South Valley Growers Market board, and sold flowers and produce at the market. She was a founding member of the Atlixco Coalition which later evolved into the South Valley Coalition of Neighborhood Associations with over 23 neighborhoods participating.

Kelly resides in an intentional community of four families all located on a small farm in Albuquerque New Mexico’s South Valley.  She has three grown children and two grandchildren who know her as “Nana” . She is a significant member of a very large family that has lived in and loved New Mexico for many years.

About This Blog

The purpose of this blog is to share ideas and honest opinions regarding Christian Science as it relates to issues of health and the influence of thought on our health and well-being.   It is also a means to provide factual responses when reporters are seeking information or when incorrect statements about Christian Science are presented in the media or other public forums.

I welcome the opportunity to share in conversations about the topics closest to my heart – God, the importance of and many avenues for healing in our lives, Christ Jesus and his teachings, the practical role of Christianity today, and the study and practice of Christian Science. I’m not interested in converting or being converted, but rather in informing and sharing ideas with those who are also seeking to better understand the nature of a loving God and the healing power of the Christ.
